Proud to be announcing our new forest school at Nettle Hill.
This year the General and Business Manager Aby Lynch, will be undergoing training in forest school and will be opening a forest school onsite. The idea began originally a few years ago as we started to look into the education and impact on the local ecosystem, but the team at Nettle Hill have now set some strong goals for the year ahead. Nettle Hill is passionate about working with and alongside the local community to develop a sustainable future for all.
Nettle Hill has set out to achieve the following: -
· re-establish its vegetable plot for community use
· open a programme of forest school activities for all ages
· Recycling of all resources
· No Single use plastic use on site; committed to finding sustainable alternatives of plastic, using local suppliers and initiatives where possible.
· Committed to sustainability and reducing our global footprint
Abigail explained “we are passionate about creating a centre that is sustainable and encourages a generation to be resourceful, creative and active through fun and muddy activities. I am thrilled to be taking on this venture and cant wait to meet some new faces in the Autumn as we start our classes. ”
